Super charged rock n roll, or “so wave” as the band defines their sound, is fueled by the dual guitars of Barney Cortez (vocals/guitar) and Anthony Cox (backing vox/guitar). With a rhythm section of power in Steve Lyons (backing vox/bass) and Alan Toka (drums), The Rituals hint at riffs of new wave, grunge, and power pop that reclaim territory left by groups such as The Pretenders and Devo. Under the wall of punchy guitars lies the right amount of hooks that show they have the type of songs that will stick in your head. 

Their first EP “SO LA” (released in May of 2016) was recorded in their adopted city of Los Angeles and is a small taste of the ground this band can cover. High intensity songs like “Down in The Hole” balance out well with acoustic tracks like “Nobody’s Home” which show that the band has a more delicate side as well. Plan on hearing their next single in July of 2016.
